The Aurora Review Winter 2006

Light, Life, and Love Gridded City
Ann Naylor

Celebration
Margarita Engle

Long ago
in the highlands of a foreign land
I saw a funeral procession
at night

all the mourners
were dressed
in white cotton

and the sky
was a carnival
of fireworks
and falling stars

uncanny streaks
of light

a winged migration.
